VERMILLION, S.D. – South Dakota volleyball won its sixth-straight match and 11th-straight league match dating back to last season by topping Western Illinois 25-20, 25-12, 25-20 on Friday night in the DakotaDome.
Kendall Kritenbrink tallied 10 kills to lead the Coyotes (15-6, 6-0) while Sydney Dimke and Audrey Reeg both tallied nine kills. Tori Kroll added 36 assists, Kaitlyn Hastings had 12 digs and Kelsey Biltoft had five blocks.
South Dakota finished set one with a 7-3 run, had a 21-4 run in the second set and had a pair of 7-3 runs in the third. South Dakota also finished with a .351 hitting percentage, led 8-1 in blocks and forced 15 Western Illinois (9-12, 3-3) attack errors.
Ann Miller led the Leathernecks with 12 kills and six digs while Sarah Fetter had 26 assists.
South Dakota's last loss in league play was a 3-2 decision at Fort Wayne last season on Oct. 20. Since then, the Coyotes have had four sweeps of league opponents.
The Coyotes will try to make it more than a full year since their last league loss when they host Omaha at the DakotaDome on Sunday at 7 p.m.
