FARGO, N.D. – USD volleyball won its eighth straight Summit League match dating back to last season by topping North Dakota State 26-24, 23-25, 25-12, 25-14 on Friday night behind 26 kills by Kendall Kritenbrink.
Kritenbrink recorded 10 kills in the opening set and finished the match with 1,166 career kills, which moves her into sixth on USD's all-time kills list by passing Nikki Daggett (1995-99) at 1,152 kills. Kelsey Biltoft recorded 11 kills on 16 attacks, Tori Kroll had 54 assists and Kaitlyn Hastings and Riley Haug both recorded double-digit digs with 12 and 11 respectively.
As a team, the Coyotes (12-6, 3-0) had a .403 hitting percentage and had 61 of their 124 attacks result in kills (49 percent). South Dakota also forced NDSU (1-14, 1-1) into 25 attack errors and had a 7-2 advantage in blocks.
Three Bison had double-digit kills with Emily Minnick and Jenni Fassbender recording 15 each. Emily Miron added 13 kills.
South Dakota is tied at the top of the Summit League standings with Denver at 3-0. The last time USD lost in league play was a 3-2 loss at Fort Wayne last season on Oct. 20. USD has lost just seven sets over their eight league matches since.
The Coyotes will play again Saturday by taking on South Dakota State at Frost Arena at 7 p.m.
