BROOKINGS, S.D. – South Dakota volleyball had three players reach double-digit kills as the Coyotes topped in-state rival South Dakota State 22-25, 25-15, 25-20, 25-18 on Saturday night in Frost Arena. The Coyotes (13-6, 4-0) have now won nine straight Summit League matches dating back to last season.
Kendall Kritenbrink recorded 21 kills to lead the Coyote effort, while Sydney Dimke had 13 kills and Kelsey Biltoft notched 11 kills. Defensively, Kaitlyn Hastings led USD in digs with 14 while Kritenbrink recorded 12 digs for her eighth double-double of the season. Tori Kroll tallied 51 assists and Riley Haug recorded five services aces.
The Coyotes recorded an 18-6 run in the second set, a 16-5 run in the third set and a 13-2 run in the fourth set. South Dakota also had more kills than SDSU (2-14, 0-3) in every set and ended the match with a 62-45 advantage in that stat.
Tiara Gibson led South Dakota State with 10 kills while Lexi Fowler recorded 12 digs and 37 assists.
The Coyotes will return to the DakotaDome for a match on Friday against Denver at 5 p.m. South Dakota and Denver (10-7, 4-0) are the only teams left with undefeated league records.
