ROCHESTER, Mich.--Olivia Nash (19 points, 15 rebounds) and Sinclair Russell (12 points, 10 rebounds) both grabbed double-doubles as Oakland defeated South Dakota 59-46 at the Athletics Center O'rena. The win avenged a 15-point road loss to USD in mid-January.
It was the seventh double-double of the season for Nash and the first for Russell, who added six assists. Elena Popkey chipped in 10 points for the Golden Grizzlies.
Tempestt Wilson scored 14 of South Dakota's 22 first-half points, yet the Coyotes held a two-point lead at the break. As a team USD shot 29 percent from the field.
The Coyotes entered the game as the Summit League leader in rebounding margin (+7.3), but were out-rebounded 54-38 by the Golden Grizzlies. Oakland grabbed 18 offensive boards, held a 26-16 advantage on points in the paint and hit 34 percent of its shots.
South Dakota's next game will be at Fort Wayne at 1 p.m. on Saturday. USD beat IPFW 82-51 in the DakotaDome on Jan. 17.
