USD-Arkansas State box | USD-Pitt box

COLUMBIA, Mo. - Kendall Kritenbrink earned all-tournament honors Saturday as South Dakota volleyball split two matches at the final day of the Tiger Invitational, topping Arkansas State in four sets (25-23, 25-16, 23-25, 25-18) and dropping to Pittsburgh in four sets (25-27, 25-15, 25-16, 25-17).

The Coyotes (2-2) finished the tournament tied for second, tying with Pittsburgh and Idaho State. Host Missouri (4-0) won the title while Arkansas State (0-4) took fifth.

Kritenbrink recorded 17 kills and 12 digs while Sydney Dimke tallied 13 kills and 10 digs to notch double-doubles against Arkansas State. Kritenbrink finished the tournament with 60 kills and 39 digs.

Kaitlyn Hastings led USD in digs and aces with 15 and four respectively, and Tori Kroll tallied 42 assists.

The Coyotes forced Arkansas State into 27 attack errors and led in blocks 11-4. Kroll and Kelsey Biltoft both recorded three total blocks to lead the `Yotes in the match.

USD had 27 attack errors in the loss to Pittsburgh. The Panthers had three players record double digit kills with Jessica Wynn's 16 leading the way. Pittsburgh also had 11 service aces as a team.

Amber Aschoff was the lone Coyote to reach double-digit kills against Pittsburgh with 11 while Kritenbrink led in digs with 12.

South Dakota will travel to the Washington State Cougar Challenge in Pullman, Wash., for matches with Montana and Eastern Washington on Friday.
