Box Score

VERMILLION, S.D.—Sophomore Corey Strang scored the game-winning goal in South Dakota's 1-0 victory over Fort Wayne at the USD Soccer Complex in Vermillion on Sunday.

Strang's goal came in the 85th minute off of a throw-in assist from freshman Brittney Baker. Strang received the ball just inside the 18-yard goal box, then sent it to the far side of the net for her third goal of the season.

The Coyotes' back line held the Mastadons (2-9-0, 0-1-0 Summit League) to two shots-on-goal for the game. On the other end of the field, South Dakota (8-4-1, 1-0-1 Summit League) had 14 total shots as Fort Wayne's goalkeeper Sam Pavlika recorded nine saves.

South Dakota will travel to Oral Roberts to play their next Summit League game Friday, Oct. 10 at 7 p.m. in Tulsa, Okla.
