VERMILLION, S.D.—Brandon Bos hit a game-winning, 15-foot jumper just off the right elbow with two seconds left to give South Dakota a 55-53 win against Montana State Thursday inside the DakotaDome. It ended a three-game skid for the Coyotes (4-8) who take on Montana Sunday in Missoula.

Bos scored a team-high 17 points. He hit three-pointers on three consecutive possessions early in the second half that gave South Dakota its largest lead at 36-28. Bos has averaged 19 points during his last four games.

Montana State point guard Marcus Colbert led all scorers with 21 points. He scored nine points in the first nine minutes of the contest and got his other 12 points in the final 10 minutes of the second half. His three-pointer with 35 seconds remaining tied the game at 53-53. His half-court heave at the final horn bounced off the front of the rim.

South Dakota chose not to call a timeout during its final possession. Tyler Larson drained the clock near halfcourt before tossing to Bos on the left side. Bos dribbled off a high screen and pulled up over a defender for the winner.

Larson had 12 points and 11 rebounds in earning his Summit League-leading fifth double-double of the season. Trey Norris added 10 points off the Coyote bench and converted a crucial three-point play with 1:22 remaining that gave South Dakota a 52-48 lead.

The Coyotes won despite shooting less than 30 percent from the field. South Dakota made 15 of 19 free throws, hit six triples and scored 17 points off 16 Bobcat turnovers.

Colbert was the only player to score in double figures for Montana State (3-7), which has lost its last two. The Bobcats shot 33 percent from the field including a 4 of 14 effort from beyond the arc. Danny Robison and Zach Green had eight points each for MSU. Michael Dison, the team's leading scorer entering the game at 13 points a contest, had six Thursday on 1 of 9 shooting.
