EDINBURG, Texas—A goal by UT Rio Grande Valley's Elisa Espino in overtime lifted the Vaqueros 1-0 past the Coyotes on Saturday at UTRGV Soccer Complex in Edinburg, Texas.
South Dakota (2-5-0) and UTRGV (2-2-2) finished regulation in a 0-0 tie. Espino's shot from the left side of the goal box bounced past Coyote goalkeeper
Sydney Hardin and into the net for the golden goal in the 97th minute.
Hardin recorded her third consecutive start in goal after wins last weekend against Chicago State and Green Bay. This marks Hardin's first collegiate loss in the net. Hardin grabbed five saves, with three in the first half and two in the second.
