The Game
South Dakota and Fort Wayne meet tonight in a rematch of a Summit League Tournament quarterfinal game won by the Coyotes 82-73 last March in Sioux Falls. The teams split their regular season matchups a year ago with both road teams getting the nod. The Coyotes won 64-62 inside the Gates Sports Center last season.

South Dakota has split two Summit League games and is coming off a 94-84 road win at Oral Roberts Sunday. Fort Wayne beat Oral Roberts 90-84 at home last Wednesday in its only Summit League contest thus far. The Mastodons, ranked 25th in this week's Mid-Major Top 25 Poll, have won five in a row and are 6-0 at home this season.

The Series
Fort Wayne has won five of nine meetings between the two programs since becoming Summit League foes in 2011. USD won two of three matchups last season. Fort Wayne is 3-1 on its home court.

The Mastodons
Fort Wayne, picked to finish one spot ahead of USD in fourth place in the preseason poll, enters tonight's contest with an RPI of 97. The team's best wins to date are against Oral Roberts and a road win at Cal Poly back in early December. The Mastodons are led in scoring by guards Mo Evans (17.3 ppg) and Max Landis (15.7), who have combined to make 91 three-pointers. Fort Wayne takes 25 3's and makes 10 on average each game. The Mastodons have averaged 97 points during their current five-game win streak.

Kasperbauer with 999 points
South Dakota senior guard Casey Kasperbauer has scored 999 career points in three-plus seasons at South Dakota. Should he score tonight, Kasperbauer would become the 45th player in USD history to reach the milestone. Ironically, the last player to do it was Brandon Bos, who scored his 1,000th collegiate point against Fort Wayne last year at Gates Sports Center.

Road Record
South Dakota's four true road wins this season rank 10th nationally. The Coyotes are 12-11 on the road under Craig Smith (6-3 in Summit League play). Those 12 wins in the last 1 1/2 seasons rank 12th nationally.

One Last Note
South Dakota and Fort Wayne totaled 201 points each in three meetings last season. USD won the rebounding edge 93-92. Fort Wayne made 18 three-pointers to 17 for USD. Fort Wayne committed one more turnover (27-26) and USD had one more steal (10-9).
