VERMILLION, S.D.—South Dakota hit its first six shots and jumped out to a 20-3 lead to set the tone in a 99-60 rout of Presentation Wednesday at Sanford Coyote Sports Center. It is the third straight win for the Coyotes (3-0) who are off to their best start of the Division I era.

All 11 South Dakota players in uniform played between 15-22 minutes and all got in the scoring column. Dan Jech, Trey Dickerson and Brandon Armstrong led the way with 12 points, Matt Mooney had 11, and Joshua Doss and Austin Sparks chipped in 10 each.

The Coyotes shot 61 percent in the first half while limiting Presentation to 6 of 26 from the field and took a 47-23 lead into halftime. The lead was 95-47 with 3:09 remaining on a 3 by Logan Power, who had a career-best 11 rebounds to go with eight points.

Presentation, an NAIA Division II program out of Aberdeen, S.D., got a game-high 17 points from Aaron Samuels who made 6 of 12 from the field. Elijah Valdez came off the bench to score 13. Donnell Minton, who entered the game averaging 24 points per game, had seven points on 2 of 11 from the field and pulled down a team-high seven boards.

It was the second meeting between the two programs. The first came back in January of 2011 and USD won 92-44. Wednesday night's game served as an exhibition for the Saints, who have a 1-3 record.

The Coyotes are back in action tomorrow against Doane at 7 p.m. Afterwards, the team will prepare for a trip to Estero, Fla., where South Dakota will play three games in three days at the Gulf Coast Showcase. First up on the trip is a Monday match against Kent State at 4 p.m. CT.
