VERMILLION, S.D.—The University of South Dakota football team is hosting a toy drive Saturday, Nov. 19, as the Coyotes take on North Dakota State. Fans are encouraged to donate a new or slightly used toy to be given to local youth for the holidays.
An idea originated by head coach
Bob Nielson and assistant head coach
Brian Mohnsen, the Coyote football team wants to do what they can to provide a great holiday for everyone in the Vermillion community. New or slightly used toys, in addition to cash donations, will be accepted at the main entrances of the DakotaDome. All the toys will be distributed to youth in Vermillion through the Vermillion Food Bank early in December.
The drive began with the men's basketball exhibition game in which fans were asked to donate in lieu of an admission fee. With tremendous response from the Coyote community, fans are now being asked to make a donation at this Saturday's football game.
The Coyotes kick off against the Bison inside the DakotaDome at 2 p.m. Saturday.
