VERMILLION, S.D. – The South Dakota volleyball team had its most successful year since the Coyotes joined the Division I level in the 2008-09 season.
USD won two tournaments, had an 11-game win-streak, went 8-0 at home in the Summit League and set a program-best for wins with 25.
The Coyotes ranked nationally in multiple statistical categories on top of the records and accomplishments. The defense was the catalyst and ranked second in the nation in digs per set at 18.44. That led the team to being 25
th in the nation for assists per set (13.26) and 41
st in kills per set (13.99).
South Dakota captured the program's first conference title by winning a share of the Summit League regular season title. The Coyotes would finish the runner-up in the Summit League Tournament.
