The Match
Volleyball's first home match of the 2016 season will be the first athletic event held in the Sanford Coyote Sports Center. The SCSC can seat up to 6,000 fans and the Coyotes look to carry their success from the Coyote Den to the new arena. The match starts at 7 p.m. The doors open to fans at 6 p.m. for a grand opening tour to the general public. The first 2,000 fans through the door will receive a free T-shirt.
The Coyotes
South Dakota captured the Tulsa Hurricane Classic on opening weekend. After dropping their season opener to Alabama of the SEC with a pair of sets taken by two points, the Coyotes rallied to sweep Incarnate Word and Tulsa to finish the tournament 2-1. Junior setter
Brittany Jessen was named the tournament's MVP and the Summit League Offensive Player of the Week after recording 100 assists, 20 kills and 32 digs in three matches. Junior middle blocker

Lauren Mattison joined her on the all-tournament team. Law tallied 21 kills with a .425 hitting percentage and Mattison led the Coyotes with 48 digs. Senior outside hitter

Hayley Dotseth both recorded a pair of double-doubles at the tournament.
The Fighting Hawks
North Dakota hosted the UND Classic over the weekend. North Dakota swept Omaha to open the tournament before falling to Ole Miss and UC Davis. Senior outside hitter Chelsea Moser leads the Fighting Hawks with 32 kills and junior outside hitter Tamara Merseli has 29. Junior setter Sydney Griffin posted 109 assists. The Fighting Hawks returned a pair of 2015 Big Sky second-team honorees in Moser and sophomore middle blocker Faith Dooley.Â
