Sunday in Spain brought an early rise and a six-hour, high-speed train ride from Barcelona to San Sebastian, which rests more than 500 kilometers (more than 300 miles) northwest of Barcelona and along the Bay of Biscay. The team arrived to its hotel mid-afternoon, took a guided tour of the city and explored the iconic Concha Beach.
Freshman guard
Triston Simpson and senior forward
Tyler Flack describe their first day in San Sebastian below:
"Today we woke up and traveled from Barcelona to San Sebastian by train. The train ride was about six hours long and the scenery along the way was beautiful. When we arrived to San Sebastian, we first took a guided tour of the city and later made our way down to the beach. The scenery is amazing and I can't wait to learn more about the city tomorrow." -

"We left for San Sebastian at the crack of dawn. We took a high-speed train to cross the country. We toured the city and I was amazed at how beautiful the beach was. My teammates and I walked in the shallow water in the crowded bay and everyone was starting at us. Many knew we played basketball based on our height. We signed some autographs and took pictures with kids. Can't wait for a full day on the beach tomorrow!" -
