VERMILLION, S.D. — The South Dakota volleyball team (6-1) travels to Stockton, Calif., to compete in Pacific's Community Classic Friday and Saturday at the Alex G. Spanos Center.
The Coyotes start the tournament against Northern Colorado Friday at noon and take on Oregon State later that day at 4 p.m. USD wraps up the tournament against Pacific Saturday at noon. All times are local.

Brittany Jessen is one of 13 athletes to record a triple-double. USD beat North Dakota 3-1 in the Coyotes home opener and Jessen tallied 39 assists, 12 kills and 19 digs. She also ranks 23

st in assists per set (10.92). For active career leaders, Jessen ranks eighth with 10.77 assists per set.

Kelly Law ranks 16
th in the nation in hitting percentage. She has 53 kills with a .436 clip. Senior outside hitter

The opponents
Northern Colorado (14-16, 10-6 Big Sky) – Friday at noon
The Bears received one first-place vote as they were picked to finish second in the 2016 Big Sky preseason poll. They are 4-3 on the season and are coming off a 3-1 win over Denver. Sophomore outside hitter Kortney Lockey leads Northern Colorado with 99 kills and junior middle blocker Alex Kloehn is second with 72. Senior setter Ashley Guthrie keeps the offense going with 10.07 assists per set. Defensively, Kloehn has 27.0 total blocks while senior defensive specialist Makenna Meier has 119 digs.
Oregon State (6-24, 4-16 Pac-12) – Friday at 4 p.m.
The Beavers were picked to finish 12
th in the 2016 Pac-12 coaches' poll. They are 3-2 on the season after going 1-1 at the Nebraska Invitational. OSU beat Syracuse 3-0, but lost to No. 1 Nebraska 3-0. Sophomore outside hitter Lanesha Reagan leads her squad with 82 kills and junior outside hitter Mary-Kate Marshall is next with 71. Senior setter McKenna Hollingsworth fuels the offense with 9.79 assists per set.
Pacific (17-13, 8-10 West Coast Conference) – Saturday at noon
The Tigers were picked to finish sixth out of 10 teams in the 2016 WCC preseason coaches' poll. Senior outside hitter Lexi Elman was named to the 2016 All-WCC preseason team. Pacific is currently 2-4 on the season after losing three straight games at Hawaii's Wahine Volleyball Classic. The Tigers were beat by No. 8 UCLA 3-1 and were swept by No. 15 Hawaii and Missouri State. Elman leads Pacific with 78 kills. Freshman middle blocker Ashlyn Fleming, senior middle blocker Alicja Wilk and sophomore setter Andie Shelton all have 20-plus total blocks.
