John Vining is pleased to announce the signing of Ian Johnston to a national letter of intent. Johnston will join the Coyotes for the 2019-20 season.

Johnston is a two-time Iowa all-state honoree in class 4A and was twice runner-up for the Iowa Player of the Year. He helped guide Prairie High School to the state tournament for the first time in school history in 2017. In 2018, he finished runner-up in his district to qualify for state as an individual.
He claimed the Iowa Junior Amateur Championship in 2018 tallying 137 strokes over two rounds and totaled seven victories in five states in the 2018 playing season.
Off the course, Johnston won the prestigious American Junior Golf Association's Jerry Cole Leadership Award for his work in raising awareness for substance abuse. He helped raise over $13,000 for substance abuse in the effort.
"Ian's commitment to giving back off the golf course is what makes me proud to have him become a member of our program," Vining added. "His character and abilities allow us to continue our momentum as a program and push us to reach new heights.
