Day Two Results
SIOUX FALLS, S.D. —A number of South Dakota newcomers rose to the occasion on day two of the Coyote Invitational at the Midco
® Aquatic Center as four individual event victories were captured by freshmen.
South Dakota's Top Performers:
Freshman
Mark Vanderzee made yet another appearance at the top as he captured the 400-yard individual medley with a time of 4 minutes, 13.33 seconds and the 200-yard butterfly with a time of 1:55.77. Freshman
Ben Kopp won the 200-yard backstroke with a time of 1:59.01. In the 200-yard breaststroke, freshman
Elbert Chuang finished first with a time of 2:08.85 with
James Ryan hitting the wall right after Chuang with a finish of 2:10.19.
The 200-yard medley relay team consisting of Kopp, senior

Steven Howell and sophomore
Gray Determan won the event with a finish of 1:34.24. In the 400-yard freestyle relay, Wascom, Thompson, Determan and Chuang won the event with a finish of 3:09.24.
On the diving board, sophomore
Isaac Morris once more made waves for USD as he swept both dives. Morris took the one-meter dive with a score of 300.90 and his performance on the three-meter dive earned him a score of 314.60.
For the women, both the 200-yard medley relay and the 400-yard freestyle relay took second place finishes. The team that swam the medley relay consisted of junior

Hannah Gupton and freshman Madison Gallagher finished with a time of 1:49.42. The freestyle relay team of Godlewski, senior Kellee Lekay, freshman

Breaking into the Coyote Top 10:
Vanderzee has entered the Coyote Top 10 list for the first time in his career with his performance in the 200-yard butterfly. His finish of 1:55.77 places him eighth in school history.
