Penultimate road game on tap for Coyotes in Fort Wayne

WBB at Fort Wayne

The Coyote women's basketball team travels to Fort Wayne for a game at 5 p.m. CST Wednesday inside Hilliard Gates Sports Center in Fort Wayne, Indiana.

The Game
It's the penultimate road challenge for the Coyotes who have won six-straight road games. South Dakota's perfect Summit League record and 13-game winning streak are on the line against Fort Wayne.

The Coyotes
South Dakota (19-5, 10-0 Summit League) sits atop the league standings with four Summit games remaining. Versatility has been the key to the Coyotes' success this season. South Dakota can score inside and out, averaging 10 3-pointers and outscoring opponents 32-22 in the paint in league play. The Coyotes' well-rounded offense features nine different players who have led the team in scoring this season. Offensively, the Coyotes rank in the top-18 nationally for all three shooting percentage categories. South Dakota's defense is also holding opponents to 59 points per game and forcing 18 turnovers a contest.

The Mastodons
Fort Wayne (4-19, 1-9 Summit League) returns home after a six-game road trip that began in Vermillion last month. Fort Wayne's lone league win came at home against Omaha, 76-65, just prior to that trip. De'Jour Young leads the team in scoring with 10.6 points per game. Fort Wayne ranks 30th nationally in free-throw percentage (75.8).

The Series
South Dakota has won nine-straight against Fort Wayne to lead 11-3 in the all-time series. The series is tied 3-3 in Fort Wayne. The Mastodons took the first three against the Coyotes on their home floor, but the Coyotes have won the last three including by an 82-55 margin last season.

One Last Thing
Freshman guard Chloe Lamb stepped up and scored a career high 20 points on Saturday against North Dakota State. Her previous best of 16 points was in the Coyotes' first meeting with Fort Wayne.
