VERMILLION, S.D. – South Dakota Women's Basketball and head coach Carrie Eighmey are pleased to announce a 16-game non-conference schedule, including eight matchups in the Sanford Coyote Sports Center.
 
Year three of Eighmey's tenure will get underway on Nov. 2 against York (Neb.), the same squad the Coyotes opened the 2025-26 season against. South Dakota spends the first two weeks of the season in the state, with three home games (York, UTRGV, Idaho State) and a trip to the Sanford Pentagon on Nov. 11 to face Creighton between the UTRGV and Idaho State games.
 
The first road contest of the season is scheduled for Nov. 18 at Chicago State, followed by a trip across the Illinois and Indiana border to take on Valparaiso on Nov. 20.
 
To wrap up the month of November, the Coyotes host Nebraska Wesleyan on Nov. 23 before a trip to the Sunshine State for Thanksgiving. South Dakota will face North Florida and Abilene Christian in Jacksonville on Nov. 27 and 28.
 
The month of December gets started with a Dec. 1 game against Waldorf, followed by a road trip to Lindenwood on Dec. 4. The Coyotes will face back to back Missouri Valley Conference opponents inside the SCSC when Bradley (Dec. 8) and Drake (Dec. 15) come to town.
 
To wrap up the final month of the calendar year and non-conference play, the Coyotes make two trips west, first to face Montana (Dec. 19), then Boise State (Dec. 31). Sandwiched between the two roadtrips is a home matchup with Bellevue on Dec. 22.

The Coyotes have five repeat non-conference opponents from last season (York, UTRGV, Idaho State, Valparaiso, Bradley). USD was 4-1 against those opponents last year. They also face five opponents they haven't seen in program history (Nebraska Wesleyan, North Florida, Abilene Christian, Waldorf, Lindenwood). 
 
With the announcement of the non-conference schedule, the full 30-game 2026-27 women's basketball schedule is set. After non-conference play concludes on Dec. 31, the Coyotes will open conference play on Jan. 7 against Oral Roberts. Fans can view the full schedule here. Season tickets are available now.
