MEMPHIS, Tenn.—Ashley Ellis hit a two-run home run to cap a four-run first inning for Southeast Missouri State and the Redhawks rolled to a 10-2, five-inning win against South Dakota Sunday on the final day of the Tiger Classic hosted by University of Memphis.
In addition to Ellis' homer in the first, she walked and scored as part of a five-run third inning. Mykaela Arellanes had a two-run single and Rachel Anderson delivered a two-run double in the third. Arellanes finished 2-for-3 with two runs scored.
Camille Fowler singled and scored on a
Jessica Rogers' double in the first for South Dakota (10-20), and the Coyotes got their second run in the fourth following back-to-back doubles by
Jamie Holscher and
Emily Winckler. Winckler had two of the Coyotes' five hits.
Madeline Krumrey pitched all five innings for Southeast Missouri State (14-9). She struck out six and walked two in moving her record to 7-3.
