BAKERSFIELD, Calif. – South Dakota suffered a pair of setbacks on Saturday on the final day of the CSU Bakersfield Tournament at the Icardo Center.
The Coyotes were just two points away from a strong rally from down 2-0 in sets to Montana before falling in a five-set thriller 28-26, 25-20, 20-25, 18-25, 15-13. South Dakota led the fifth and deciding set 13-10 before yielding the final five points of the match.
South Dakota then fell to 6-6 on the season with its fifth-straight loss after falling in straight sets to CSU Bakersfield 25-22, 25-22, 25-19 to conclude the tournament.

Hayley Dotseth and junior
Anne Rasmussen joined an elite group on the day, becoming the 15
th and 16
th, respectively, to amass 1,000 career digs in a Coyotes uniform.
Dotseth had 18 kills and 18 digs in the five-set marathon against Montana to push past 1,000. Rasmussen, meanwhile, had 24 digs in the match against Montana and added 10 against Bakersfield, getting her 1,000 career dig late in set three.

Taylor Wilson added 13 kills apiece against Montana while redshirt freshman setter
Madison Jurgens tallied 51 assists.
Lolo Weideman was the third Coyotes' defender in double figures in digs with 13.
Dotseth contributed 10 kills and 14 digs in the setback against CSU Bakersfield while Jurgens had 30 assists.
The Coyotes open Summit League play on Friday at North Dakota State before Sunday's road trip to Oral Roberts.
