WBB: Mid-Major Poll

VERMILLION, S.D.—South Dakota women's basketball remains third in the CollegeInsider.com Mid-Major poll as announced Tuesday evening. The Coyotes were also picked first in the espnW mid-major rankings compiled by Graham Hays this week.

In the pair of major polls, South Dakota (17-3, 5-1 Summit League) has been receiving votes in the Associated Press poll for eight-straight weeks and the USA Today Coaches poll for seven of the last eight weeks.

The Coyotes kicked off a three-game road swing with a pair of victories at Oral Roberts and Omaha. South Dakota turned a 10-point fourth-quarter deficit into a 76-72 victory last Friday in Tulsa. Senior guard Allison Arens paced the Coyotes with a season-best 26 points while junior guard Ciara Duffy pitched in 25 points. The Coyotes followed up with an 80-51 win in Omaha on Sunday, using a balanced attack with five players in double-figures. Duffy led the way with 17 points while junior guard Madison McKeever added 14. The trio of Arens, junior forward Taylor Frederick and sophomore center Hannah Sjerven recorded 12 points a piece.

South Dakota wraps up its road trip with a game at North Dakota this Thursday with 7 p.m. tip-off in Grand Forks, N.D.
