Ciara Duffy has been named the Summit League Women's Basketball Player of the Week for the period ended Nov. 17. Duffy repeats for the second-straight week this season and takes home the award for the fifth time of her career.
The Coyotes clinched a pair of overtime victories last week over Drake and Utah. In the battle between the Missouri Valley and the Summit League preseason favorites, South Dakota overcame a 17-point deficit to defeat Drake 102-94 in extra minutes. South Dakota then went on the road, defeating Utah 84-81 in overtime on the Utes' home court. It marks the fifth Power 5 win of Duffy's career.
Duffy averaged 18 points, six rebounds and 5.5 assists for the week while shooting 47.8 percent (11-of-23) from the field. She racked up 20 points, seven rebounds and four assists on Wednesday against Drake. Duffy added 16 points, seven assists and five boards on the road at Utah Saturday.
Hailing from Rapid City, South Dakota, Duffy national sits sixth in assists (24) and 15th for points scored (81). She moved to ninth on USD's career scoring charts and fourth for 3-pointers made in school history last week.
