VERMILLION, S.D.—South Dakota women's basketball moved up one spot to second in the CollegeInsider.com Mid-Major poll released Tuesday evening.
 
The Coyotes (20-3) are the first ones out in the major Associated Press and USA Today Coaches polls. This marks the 10th consecutive week South Dakota has received votes in the Associated Press poll, while USD's received votes in the USA Today Coaches poll for nine of the last 10 weeks.
 
South Dakota reached 20 victories for the fifth-straight season over the weekend with a 71-49 win at Purdue Fort Wayne.
 
Three Coyotes reached double-figures against the Mastodons with senior guard 
Allison Arens and junior guard 
Ciara Duffy recording 19 points apiece. Junior forward 
Taylor Frederick added 15 points and swiped a career high six steals. South Dakota's defense held Purdue Fort Wayne to five second-half field goals to run away with the win.
 
The Coyotes return to the Sanford Coyote Sports Center for five of the final seven regular season games. South Dakota hosts Omaha at 7 p.m. Wednesday.
