VERMILLION, S.D. – South Dakota head soccer coach Michael Thomas is pleased to announce the signing of Lexie Wood to a national letter of intent.
 
Wood, a native of Rapid City, South Dakota, is a first-team all-state honoree from Stevens High School where she helped the Raiders to a state runner-up finish.
 
"Lexie is a hard-working center midfielder," Thomas said. "She is one of the top players in the state and has broadened her experiences with club play in and out of the state of South Dakota. We are excited to have her join our 2019 recruiting class."
 
She set school records for most goals scored in a season and a career at Stevens High School where she was a two-time team captain. Off the pitch, she is an academic all-state honoree.
 
At the club level, she played for the Black Hills Rapids and the Colorado ECNL.
 
The addition of Wood brings Thomas' recruiting class to 10 student-athletes for the 2019 season.
