VERMILLION, S.D. – South Dakota athletics director David Herbster is pleased to announce the hiring of Adam Riley and Derrick Sheppard, both part of the USD Ticket Office. Riley will serve as the director of ticket sales & operations while Sheppard is the assistant director of ticket operations.

Riley joins the Coyotes after spending 16 months as the ticket services representative at Wyoming. He handled out-bound sales while serving as the ticket operations manager for women's basketball. While with the Cowboys, Riley's office exceeded group ticket goals for men's and women's basketball and football.

"I am extremely excited to join the Coyote family," Riley said. "I believe that the USD athletic department is an amazing program that has one of the most loyal fan bases in the country. I am looking forward to continuing and building upon that success."

Riley also has experience with Creighton and the Sioux Falls Canaries where he assisted with season ticket sales, renewals and various gameday operations.

A native of Alliance, Nebraska, Riley graduated from South Dakota State in December of 2016 with his bachelor's of science in sport, recreation and park management.

Sheppard served the 2018-19 academic year as the graduate assistant of ticketing at South Dakota. While as the graduate assistant, Sheppard helped with ticket sales and gameday information. As a graduate-transfer, he also competed on the Coyote track & field team. He threw a personal-best 186 feet, 8 inches in the hammer throw at the Summit League Championships.

"I am excited to start my career at USD," Sheppard said. "Being a former student-athlete here, I would love to give back to the University that gave me an opportunity to pursue my dreams. I can't wait to get started and help showcase our great student-athletes competing on the highest stage."

A May 2018 graduate of the University of Sioux Falls, Sheppard earned his degree in sport management while also competing on the track and field teams. The Fremont, Nebraska, native was the 2017 NSIC Champion in the weight throw.
