No. 21/18 South Dakota visits Mile High City

WBB at Denver

The Game
No. 21/18 South Dakota women's basketball travels to Denver for a game at 2 p.m. (CT) inside Hamilton Gymnasium in Denver, Colorado.

The Coyotes
No. 21/18 South Dakota (20-2, 9-0 Summit) embarks on the second of three-straight road trips in league play. The Coyotes are coming off a memorable Wednesday evening where USD head coach Dawn Plitzuweit recorded her 100th win at USD, becoming the fastest Summit League coach to achieve the feat. In addition, senior guard Madison McKeever scored her 1,000th career point. The Coyotes may have gone cold in outside shooting, but outscored the Mavericks 50-16 in the paint to win by 32 points. South Dakota's average margin of victory in league action this season is 35 points. Six Summit foes, including four-straight from Jan. 11-24, were held to under 50 points by the Coyote defense.

The Pioneers
Denver (9-13, 3-6 Summit) returns home after three-straight road games. Senior Madison Nelson leads the team in scoring for the second-straight season, averaging a double-double with 17.9 points and 11 rebounds. Sharp shooter Lauren Loven leads the team behind the arc with 310 made triples in her career – a Denver program record which ranks second in Summit League history. The Pioneers, who finished third in the league a year ago, were picked to finish third again this season. At the midway point of the season, the Pioneers sit sixth in the Summit. Denver's known for its high-powered offense averaging 77.2 points per game (20th in the nation).

The Series
The Coyotes lead the series with the Pioneers 13-3. All three of Denver's wins have come in the Mile High City, including last year's 104-99 track meet that cost the Coyotes a share of a regular season Summit title. South Dakota won this season's first meeting 104-61 in Vermillion.

One Last Thing
This year's senior class has reached 20 wins for all four of their years at South Dakota. The women's basketball program now boasts six-straight years of 20+ wins in a season.
