No. 21/16 Coyotes return to road, visit Oral Roberts

WBB at Oral Roberts

The Game
No. 21/16 South Dakota women's basketball visits Oral Roberts for a game at 2 p.m. Saturday inside the Mabee Center in Tulsa, Oklahoma.

The Coyotes
No. 21/16 South Dakota (23-2, 12-0 Summit) returns to the road for the fourth time in the last five games. The Coyotes' motion offense has been spreading the wealth in recent games, with five in double-figures on Thursday versus Western Illinois and six last Sunday at North Dakota. USD has been controlling the lane during Summit play, averaging 22 more points in the paint than league foes. Senior guard Ciara Duffy, a semifinalist for the Becky Hammon Mid-Major Player of the Year award, leads the team with 17.7 points in league play. Junior center Hannah Sjerven's been consistent with 11 of 12 games in double-digits, averaging 13.3 points and 7.9 rebounds. She had a double-double on Thursday night. Senior Taylor Frederick, junior Chloe Lamb and senior Madison McKeever have all scored in double-figures the last two games.

The Golden Eagles
Oral Roberts (12-13, 7-5 Summit) has won four of five since it last met up with the Coyotes. The Golden Eagles are led by guard Keni Jo Lippe's 19.5 points, 7.6 rebounds and 2.8 assists per game this season. Lippe dropped a Summit League record 46 points last weekend at North Dakota State to get the overtime win for the Golden Eagles. It's the most points scored by an NCAA Division I player this year. She's the reigning Summit League Player of the Week after that performance, coupled with a second-double double at North Dakota. The Golden Eagles have just two home losses this season – to Houston Baptist and South Dakota State.

The Series
South Dakota leads the all-time series with Oral Roberts 12-3. The Coyotes have even won four of six games inside the Mabee Center, but three of those victories came by five points or fewer.

One Last Thing
The Coyotes are one of 12 women's basketball teams that remain undefeated in conference play this year.
