Senior Saturday for Coyote women’s basketball

WBB vs. North Dakota

The Game
No. 20/12 South Dakota hosts North Dakota at 1 p.m. Saturday for senior day inside the Sanford Coyote Sports Center in Vermillion, S.D. The senior day presentations will begin at 12:49 p.m.

The Coyotes
No. 20/12 South Dakota (26-2, 15-0) will honor its quartet of seniors – Ciara Duffy, Madison McKeever, Taylor Frederick and Megan Bonar – ahead of tip-off Saturday. This year's senior class is the first to play all four years inside the Sanford Coyote Sports Center. They have won 56 of 60 games on Abbott Court and their career winning percentage (.815) is better than any other four-year stretch in program history. The Coyotes clinched the outright Summit League regular season title last Saturday, but looks to run the table for the second time in three years with a win over North Dakota. Only one program has gone undefeated in The Summit League's 13-year history, and that's South Dakota (2018).

The Fighting Hawks
North Dakota (15-13, 6-9) needs a win on Saturday and an NDSU loss at Omaha to earn the No. 6 seed to the upcoming Summit League Tournament. The Fighting Hawks are currently sitting on the No. 7 line. North Dakota features a lot of new faces on the court this season, having graduating all-Summit League forward Lexi Klabo. A freshman has led the team in scoring the last five games and a total of 13 times this season. Junior Julia Fleecs leads the team with 14.9 points and 5.2 rebounds in conference play. She's the only Fighting Hawk averaging double-figures this season, although freshman Megan Zander had back-to-back 20-point games to bring her average up to 8.5 points in league play.

The Series
North Dakota leads the series between the old NCC foes 49-30. South Dakota has won the last eight meetings against the Fighting Hawks, including sweeping the first four games since UND's joined the Summit.

One Last Thing
A win on Saturday will give this year's Coyotes a new program record for regular season victories (27). The program won 26 regular season games in 2007-08 and 2018-19.
