COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – South Dakota freshman
Elizabeth Juhnke has been named to the USA Volleyball U.S. Collegiate National Team-Anaheim Roster.
Juhnke, the Summit League Freshman of the Year, is one of 28 players named to the team after tryouts were held in late February.
Juhnke, who led the Coyotes and Summit League with 520 kills, is one of eight outside hitters named to the roster.
The CNT Anaheim will train June 21-27 in Anaheim at the American Sports Centers where they will compete side-by-side with the U.S. Women's National Team as it makes final preparations for the Tokyo Olympic Games.
"I am thrilled for Elizabeth to be selected to this team!" said South Dakota coach
Leanne Williamson. 'This is such a great opportunity for her to train with some of the best in the country in Anaheim as well as the Women's National team.
"It is an honor for her to represent South Dakota in the USA gym. Also, she will be able to learn from the best as she gets to play the game that she loves. I am excited for her to continue to elevate her game during this amazing opportunity."
Earlier this month USA Volleyball named the 28-player CNT-Gold roster, which will train July 5-12 in Anaheim. In total, 56 CNT athletes were selected through the U.S. Women's National Team Open Tryouts held Feb. 21-23 at the U.S. Olympic and Paralympic Training Center in Colorado Springs, Colorado.
