Herbster's Letter to Coyote Nation

GEN: Herbster's Letter

Coyote Fans:

The news about COVID-19 the last few weeks has increasingly occupied our thoughts and energy. These are trying times and there is nothing more important than everyone's health and wellbeing. I wanted to reach out and let you know how much your support means to Coyote Athletics. This year was a historic one, and we all want to THANK YOU for your role in these achievements:
  • Football had a strong conference showing and ended the season with an exciting win against a ranked team.
  • Both volleyball and women's basketball achieved undefeated Summit League regular season records.
  • Men's basketball won eight consecutive games including seven in conference play, a Division I-era record, and finished with 20 wins and a No. 3 seed in the Summit League Tournament.
  • Women's basketball concluded the season with an incredible 30-2 record and finished the season ranked No. 11 in the USA Today Coaches Poll and No. 17 in the AP Top 25.
  • USD currently leads both the Summit League Commissioner's Cup and South Dakota Corn Showdown Series standings.
As we all miss sports during this difficult time, our coaches and student-athletes miss you. We miss the interaction with Coyote Nation and will continue to communicate with you on any developments moving forward. We cannot wait to reunite with you once again.

Our athletics staff is currently working remotely but is still available to assist you. We are still processing football season ticket renewals and new requests. Stay up to date with all athletics and ticketing news at GoYotes.com and GoYotes.com/Tickets. We can be found on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram as well.

For any ticketing questions, please email tickets@usd.edu or call (605) 677-5959.

Once again, thank you for your loyal support of Coyote Athletics. We are excited to build on the foundation that you've helped foster. We are fortunate to have fans with your passion as exemplified by Coyote Nation painting the PREMIER Center RED this month at the Summit League Basketball Tournament. We wish you and your family well, and look forward to seeing you soon. GO YOTES!

Sincerely,

David Herbster
