FARGO, N.D.—Four South Dakota Coyotes posted national top-25 marks on Saturday at the Dakota Quad Classic inside the Shelly Ellig Indoor Facility. South Dakota won 14 events in the battle among the four Dakota schools.
The Coyotes split the team races with host North Dakota State, topping the men's field and finishing second on the women's side. The meet was scored as a quadrangular with each team limited to two scorers per event.
Senior
Ethan Bray improved his career best indoor mark by a quarter-inch, winning the pole vault competition in 18-1 ¼ (5.52m). The No. 1 men's pole vault squad in the nation swept the top-five spots of the field on Saturday. Freshman
Eerik Haamer vaulted a personal best 17-9 ¼ (5.42m) and senior
Kaleb Ellis jumped 16-3 ½ (4.97m) for third. Haamer moved to fifth in the country with the mark, putting two Coyotes in the nation's top-five with Bray sitting fourth.
Sophomore
Brithton Senior captured the 60-meter hurdles with a blistering time of 7.84 seconds. The season-best mark moves him to 15th in the NCAA and extends his Summit lead. Sophomore
Hugo Morvan finished third in 8.08.
Freshman
Sara Reifenrath clocked a new school record in the 200 meters after crossing the tape in 24.07 seconds. The Summit-leading time moves her to 25th in the nation.
Continuing her undefeated sophomore season,
Carly Haring captured the high jump by clearing 5-7 ¼ (1.71m). Haring's early season mark of 5-10 ¾ holds on for ninth in the country as we enter the final month of national qualifying.
The Coyotes swept the men's high jump competition with junior
Jack Durst taking first in 6-11 ½ (2.12m). Redshirt-freshman
Ethan Heitman and senior
Travis Larson cleared 6-7 ½ (2.02m) to tie for second place. Durst's height of 7-0 ½ from last time out ranks eighth in the nation.
Freshman
Demar Francis captured the 200 meters in 21.64 seconds, a blistering time that moved him to fourth in USD program history. He ranks second in the Summit and 47th in the country with the mark. Francis also cracked the Coyote Top 10 in the 60 meters, clocking 6.87 seconds in the preliminaries for the ninth-best time in USD history.
Earlier this season, freshman
Jacob Jenkins became the first Coyote in a decade to land on the men's triple jump list for the Coyote Top 10. He improved his mark to seventh on the list Saturday, winning the triple jump competition in 48-2 (14.68m). He leads the Summit in the event. Jenkins also placed third in the long jump with a season-best 22-7 ¾ (6.90m). Fellow freshman
Lauren Meyer won the women's triple jump in a season-best mark of 36-10 ½.
Sophomore
Dylan Kautz and freshman
Erin Kinney swept the men's and women's 60 meters, respectively. Kautz clocked 6.89 seconds and Kinney crossed the line in 7.69 seconds. Both took third in the 200 meters as well. Kautz finished in 22.24 seconds and Kinney took third in 25.63 seconds.
In the final event of the night, the Coyote women's pole vault squad swept the top-five places. Junior
Landon Kemp captured the competition with a vault of 13-2 ¼. Sophomore

Deidra Marrison tied for second in the competition with a clearance of 12-8 ¼.
Junior
Merga Gemeda clocked a personal best of 4:16.02 to win the mile race, then followed up with a runner-up performance in the 3,000 meters. He crossed the finish line in 8:36.65. Gemeda moved to third in the mile and fourth in the 3,000 meters in the Summit standings. Sophomore
Clayton Whitehead took third in the 3,000 with a time of 8:41.42.
The Coyotes swept the men's 800 meters with freshman
Luke Olson winning in a season-best of 1:55.84. Fellow freshman
Dylan Blake took second in 1:58.11 and senior
Kallo Arno clocked 1:58.45 for third.
Junior
Abby Ripperda won her season-opener, clocking 10:02.04 to capture the 3,000 meters. The time ranks fourth in the Summit.
South Dakota captured the women's 4x400-meter relay with a season-best time of 3:50.12. The relay consisted of senior

Freshman
Abrielle Jirele posted a pair of runner-up finishes in a distance double. She clocked a personal best 4:55.78 for the mile, followed by a second-place finish in the 3,000 meters to Ripperda in 10:02.90. She's ranked third in the league for the mile and fifth for the 3,000. Senior
Jonna Bart took third in the mile behind Jirele with a time of 5:00.78.
Wroblewski finished third in a personal-best of 2:15.33 for 800 meters. Jochum took third in the open 400 meters with a time of 59.01 seconds.
Senior
Holly Gerberding finished third in the long jump with a leap of 18-1 ¾ (5.53m).
South Dakota returns to action next Friday at the Division I Challenge in Topeka, Kansas.
