VERMILLION, S.D. – On a cold and rainy Sunday afternoon, the South Dakota Coyotes defeated Western Illinois 1-0 at the First Bank & Trust Soccer Complex.
South Dakota (3-5) picks up its first weekend sweep of the season while the Leathernecks (0-10) are still in search of their first win of the season.

Taylor Ravelo was able to head it in on the backside for her second goal of the season while Ostrem recorded her second assist of the season.
The Yotes recorded 13 shots with seven on net while the Leathernecks recorded five shots with three on goal. In her second straight start, redshirt-freshman
Caroline Lewis grabbed three saves while WIU recorded six saves on the afternoon.
South Dakota hits the road to face in state rival South Dakota State Friday and Sunday at Fishback Soccer Park. Friday's game starts at 6 p.m. while Sunday's game starts at 1 p.m.
