Volleyball's Madison Jurgens and basketball's Claudia Kunzer are featured in this week's YoteCast, the official podcast of South Dakota athletics hosted by John Thayer.
 
Jurgens and her teammates host Kansas City in a battle for first place atop the Summit League Friday and Saturday night inside the Sanford Coyotes Sports Center. Jurgens talks about this unique spring season, how the team makes adjustments in a short amount of time and playing with a target on its back. The Nebraska native also rehashes the big win against Creighton earlier in the season.
 
Kunzer joins the show live from the team bubble in San Antonio, Texas, ahead of Monday night's NCAA Tournament showdown with the Oregon Ducks. Kunzer reflects on her career as the hype woman on the squad, playing with her fellow seniors and what it's been like as a nursing major through the COVID-19 pandemic.
 
We start the episode as we always do with athletic director David Herbster who reflects on the first home football game inside the newly renovated DakotaDome. He also talks about the excitement surrounding basketball's NCAA tournament trip and hits on volleyball's and soccer's big weekend series.

Thayer is in his eighth year with the Coyote Sports Network by Learfield IMG College. He moved into the play-by-play role for Coyote football and men's basketball this season after spending seven years as the voice of Coyote women's basketball and a sideline reporter for football.
