The South Dakota Coyotes will close out the regular season on the road in Macomb, Illinois taking on Western Illinois in a pair of Summit League volleyball matches. Friday's match begins at 1 p.m. while Saturday's match is at 4 p.m.
THE COYOTES
South Dakota (11-6, 10-3 in Summit) suffered a pair of five-set home setbacks to first-place Kansas City last weekend.
Elizabeth Juhnke ranks second in the Summit League in kills per set (4.03).
Madison Harms leads the Summit League in blocks per set at 1.29. Junior setter
Madison Jurgens averages 9.84 per set.
Lolo Weideman, the junior libero, averages 4.47 digs per set.
WESTERN ILLINOIS
The Leathernecks (2-13, 2-12 in Summit) are coming in off a two-match sweep over North Dakota. Mariah Mitchell, a six-foot junior, leads the offense at 2.71 kills per set. Senior Cassie Hunt (6.58 assists/set) and sophomore Jessie Connell (4.42 assists/set) guide the offense from the setter position. Gabby DePersio averages 3.78 digs per set.Â
THE SERIES
The Coyotes have won nine straight in the series and lead all-time during the Division I era 16-3. South Dakota has won six straight in the series in Macomb.
