Senior softball player Lauren Wobken of Scribner, Nebraska, and head men's golf coach John Vining are this week's guests on YoteCast, the officialy podcast of University of South Dakota athletics hosted by the voice of the Coyotes, John Thayer.
 
Wobken touches on a number of topics including the mental fortitude of her team this season, what it's meant to play at the highest level close to home, and why it was an easy choice to pick softball when excelling in so many sports in high school. Plus, she announces what's next for her after concluding a process that began last July.
 
Vining previews this weekend's Summit League Tournament in Kansas, the joy of having another round with fifth-year senior Matt Tolan, and what it's like to be a part of the coaching staff with women's coach Brett Bennett, a fellow USD golfer who was Vining's teammate. Plus, who is the better golfer between the two coaches and what's new with Jones?
 
But we begin as we always do with athletic director David Herbster. He talks about the athletic year seemingly winding down, but notes upcoming championships in men's golf and track and field. He expressed optimism of a "return to normal" for the fall. He concluded by asking fans to come out to support softball in its final home series at Nygaard Field.
