VERMILLION, S.D. – The 2021 football season will begin a day earlier than previously announced. The South Dakota football team will travel to Lawrence, Kansas, to face the Kansas Jayhawks on Friday night, Sept. 3. Kickoff at David Booth Kansas Memorial Stadium is slated for 7 p.m. The game will also be televised on ESPN+.
 
The game against the Jayhawks will mark the first Friday night nonconference game for South Dakota in the FCS era.
 
The Coyotes' home opener is scheduled for Sept. 11 against Northern Arizona in the newly renovated DakotaDome. Season ticket renewals are on sale now. Fans can call the ticket office at 605-677-5959 or visit here to renew their tickets for the 2021 season.
