Yotes go for five in a row Monday in Macomb

The Game
The South Dakota Coyotes are back in Macomb, Illinois, tonight after rescheduling Thursday's game. The Coyotes are looking to keep their four-game conference win streak alive against a Western Illinois squad looking to even its record in the Summit standings.

The game will be streamed live on goleathernecks.com for free. Fans can tune into the game on the Coyote Sports Network with John Thayer on KVHT 106.3 FM in Yankton/Vermillion or by using The Varsity Network app.

The Series
South Dakota holds a 16-9 edge in its series with Western Illinois including a 7-5 mark in Macomb. USD has claimed the last four matchups, including both regular season meetings in Vermillion last year and a quarterfinal win at the Summit League Tournament last March.

The Coyotes
South Dakota has won four in a row despite playing without one of its top players in Xavier Fuller and while navigating injuries and illness. The Coyotes are coming off their best two shooting performances of the season, particularly from beyond the arc. USD combined to make 29-of-48 (60.4 percent) from 3-point range in wins against Omaha and St. Thomas. Mason Archambault (8-14), Kruz Perrott-Hunt (7-10) and Tasos Kamateros (6-10) are 21-of-34 in that span.

The Leathernecks
Western Illinois has added two difference makers from a year ago who are trying to flip last year's seventh-place finish to one in the upper echelon of the league. Trenton Massner from nearby Wapello, Iowa, is a junior who competed at Northwestern State in Louisiana last season. Luka Barisic is a 6-10 forward from Croatia and a graduate transfer from Texas-San Antonio (UTSA). Those two combined for 59 points in last week's 90-79 overtime win at North Dakota State. Massner came back with 24 points in Saturday's 93-75 loss to South Dakota State. The loss ended a mini two-game win streak.

One Last Thing
Hunter Goodrick is averaging a league-best 9.6 boards per game in Summit play. He totaled 45 boards during the first three games of this win streak, which included two double-doubles. He had five rebounds in 16 minutes Saturday at St. Thomas.
