The game will be televised by Midco Sports with commentary from Jay Elsen, Brad Newitt and David Brown. That broadcast will also be available for streaming on espn+ and Midco Sports Plus. A free web stream will also be available right here on GoYotes.com. Fans can tune into the game on the Coyote Sports Network with Carter Woodiel, carried on KVHT 106.3 FM in Yankton/Vermillion or by using The Varsity Network app.

The Halftime Show

You'll want to stay glued to your seat come halftime as we have a performance by America's Best Frisbee Dogs! The group has performed across the nation for professional and college teams and their next stop is right here in Vermillion. Handler Jim Foley and his three dogs will put on a high-flying frisbee chasing performance for you to enjoy.

The Coyotes

South Dakota (11-4, 4-0) has won nine straight games entering Saturday. This year's defensive intensity is one of the best among a Coyote squad in Dawn Plitzuweit's tenure. USD's scoring defense is 30th in the nation at 54.5 points per contest, while Summit foes are averaging just 50. The Coyotes' competition are scoring 15 points beneath their average when taking on USD. Fifth-year senior Chloe Lamb is the reigning Summit League Player of the Week after scoring 27 points in USD's 65-38 win over NDSU on Saturday. She leads the squad in scoring (16.3 ppg) and is joined in double-figures by sixth-year senior Hannah Sjerven (14.1) and fifth-year senior Liv Korngable (11.9). The trio were all named to the Summit preseason teams. The Coyotes improved to No. 9 in this week's CollegeInsider.com Mid-Major poll.

The Jackrabbits

South Dakota State (8-7, 4-0) returned to the CollegeInsider.com Mid-Major poll this week at No. 25. The Jackrabbits are the only other Summit team to remain undefeated in league play. The Jackrabbits have been getting it done with a balanced offense. All five starters are averaging double-figures in league play. Summit League Preseason Player of the Year Myah Selland was limited to just four nonconference games due to injury, but has played in all four of the Jacks' Summit wins, averaging 10.8 points a game in the Summit. Paiton Burckhard and Tylee Irwin joined her on the preseason first team and are averaging 11 points and 10.8 points a game, respectively. True freshman Paige Meyer leads the squad at 14 points per game in Summit action, while Tori Nelson pitches in 10 more.

The Series

South Dakota State leads the all-time series 60-33 after sweeping the two games last year, although last season was the first time in the series history that both State-U games were held in Brookings. The Jackrabbits' last trip to Vermillion was Jan. 19, 2020, when the Coyotes ran away with it 83-48. South Dakota has won six-straight meetings in Vermillion. Coyote coach Dawn Plitzuweit holds a 7-6 edge over the Jackrabbits since taking over the helm in 2016.

One Last Thing

Hannah Sjerven sits 33 points shy of 1,500 for her career. Once she joins Chloe Lamb in reaching that milestone, South Dakota will become one of six schools in the nation with two players with more than 1,500 career points.
