The Series
The Coyotes and Golden Eagles have played ten times in series history with South Dakota claiming four wins and one tie. Oral Roberts took last year's contest in Tulsa by a final score of 3-1. Last year's game was the first time the Golden Eagles had beaten South Dakota since the 2017 season which was also the last time they won in Vermillion.
Â
The Coyotes
South Dakota looks to close out the home schedule on a good note after dropping Friday's game to Kansas City. USD did not drop in the Summit League standings, however, and are still in fourth place with Oral Roberts one spot ahead of them. The Coyotes are third in the league in shots (82), fourth in goals (22), fifth in saves (59), and sixth in assists (13).
Â
Fifth-year senior
Joana Zanin sits at the top of the team leaderboard with four goals this season. She also claims one assist and nine points in her final year as a Coyote.
Taylor Cotter leads the team in assists with five and points with 11 as she is set to play in her last home game for South Dakota.
Â
The Golden Eagles
Oral Roberts heads into Vermillion with a 9-6-1 record under first-year head coach Austin Risenhoover. ORU dropped to 4-2 in the Summit this year after a defeat to South Dakota State on Friday in Brookings. Oral Roberts has one of the best scoring offenses in the conference as they lead the league in shots (280, 141 on goal), points (94), goals (30), and assists (34).
Â
The Golden Eagles have a total of nine players that have scored multiple goals on the season. Juunior Kennedy Langebartels and freshman Julia Thasaphon lead the team with five goals each on the season. Langebartels and Thasaphon rank third and fourth, respectively, in the Summit League's goal standings. Sophomore Samantha Guzman and freshman Annaliese Giusto are second on the team with four goals apiece.
