Eamiguel, Wilson named Summit Players to Watch

SIOUX FALLS, S.D.—South Dakota all-Summit League performers Lauren Eamiguel and Courtney Wilson have been dubbed conference players to watch as announced by the league office Wednesday.
 
Eamiguel is a fifth-year senior from Mesa, Arizona, a four-year starter and a two-time first-team all-Summit League shortstop. She enters this season with a .324 career batting average, 10 home runs, 90 RBIs and 101 runs scored. She's also stolen 27 bases.
 
Wilson is a three-year starter in the outfield who hails from Grand Island, Nebraska. She earned second-team all-Summit honors a year ago when she led the team and ranked sixth in the Summit with a .345 batting average. She has hit a combined .352 over the last two seasons with a home run, 22 RBIs and 29 runs scored. Defensively, Wilson has 13 outfield assists in three seasons.
 
Opening day for South Dakota is Friday when the Coyotes start at a tournament hosted by Sam Houston State in Huntsville, Texas. USD opens against Houston Baptist at 12:15 p.m. followed by a 4:15 p.m. bout against Sam Houston State.
