The Game
South Dakota returns home for a mid-week game against nearby Dordt College. The Coyotes are coming off a trip to Oregon on Sunday and make a quick stop at home before returning to the west coast this weekend.

The Series
It has been eight years since South Dakota and Dordt College met on the field. The Coyotes hold a 4-1 all-time lead over the Defenders. These two teams last met in 2004 in Vermillion in a game that ended in a 2-1 overtime victory for USD.

The Coyotes
South Dakota received its first positive result of the season after tying 2-2 against Portland State. Both of USD's goals came while they were down to tie the game twice. Taylor Ravelo and Taylor Cotter both earned their first goals of the year with Joana Zanin earning an assist on Ravelo's goal.

Shaylee Gailus and Zanin are the other two Coyotes that have found the back of the net this season. Ashby Johnston is the fifth Coyote on the team that has earned a point in 2022.

The Defenders
Dordt started off the 2022 season 0-2 but picked up its first win last Saturday in convincing fashion. The Defenders defeated Nebraska Wesleyan by a final score of 8-1. It was the most goals scored in a match for Dordt since 2012 and the third most all-time in program history.

Avril Baccam leads the team with three goals on 10 shots this year. All three of Baccam's goals came in the 8-1 victory and in consecutive fashion within a span of 15 minutes. Jori Bronner and Karinna Tel have multiple goals on the year as well.
