Giblin named Scholar of the Championship

DENVER—South Dakota senior Hattie Giblin has been named the Summit League Women's Soccer Scholar of the Championship announced by the league Friday afternoon.
 
Giblin, a CSC Academic All-District team, two-time Summit League Honor Roll and Commissioner's List of Academic Excellence member, boasts a perfect 4.00 grade-point average as a kinesiology and sport management major.
 
A native of Sioux Falls, South Dakota, Giblin has played in 61 games as a midfielder for the Coyotes. Giblin has tallied two goals, four assists and 19 shots for South Dakota. 
 
The Summit League Scholar of the Championship is presented to the student-athlete with the highest cumulative undergraduate grade-point average participating at each of the Summit League's 19 championships. Each institution that is participating in a Summit League Championship is eligible to submit one nominee for the Scholar of the Championship award. 
 
The women's soccer quarterfinals begin Friday with South Dakota taking on Omaha at 2 p.m. (Central) in Denver, Colorado, and Kansas City taking on Oral Roberts at 4 p.m. in Brookings, South Dakota.
