TEMPE, Ariz.—Sophomore
Chelsea Webber was the Coyotes' top finisher on Saturday afternoon, leading South Dakota to an eighth-place finish at the USA Triathlon Collegiate National Championships held at Tempe Town Lake.
South Dakota tallied 800 points its eighth-place finish in the team race. Arizona State captured its seventh national title with 999 points, while Queens University of Charlotte (967) and San Francisco (933) rounded out the top three.
Webber was the 28th triathlete into the finish chute with a total time of 1:06:03.8. A sophomore out of Colorado Springs, Colorado, Webber was also 28th at the national meet last fall as a true freshman. Webber recorded the fifth-fastest bike time, making up ground on the pedals with a time of 34:09 in the second leg.

Kayla Ribbink and
Grace Busch placed 48th and 49th, respectively. Ribbink completed the course in 1:08:35.4 with Busch following just behind in 1:08:36.6.

Franziska Neck and senior
Verena Vesely also finished near one another. Neck was the 59th athlete across the finish line in 1:09:43.5, with Vesely across in 61st with a time of 1:09:51.1.

Ella Perras and freshman
Ella Spitz were 95th and 96th, respectively, in the race. Perras clocked 1:14:36.8 and Spitz posted a time of 1:14:52.8.
