The Game
South Dakota takes on South Carolina State in a game at 1 p.m. Saturday at the Sanford Pentagon in Sioux Falls, South Dakota.
The game will be televised by Midco Sports with that broadcast also streamed on the Summit League Network, available on the Midco Sports Plus app. A radio broadcast from the Coyote Sports Network with Jerry Palleschi will also be available on KVHT 106.3.
The Coyotes
South Dakota (3-3) is back stateside after a fourth-place finish at the Battle 4 Atlantis tournament in the Bahamas. South Dakota played three high-major opponents in three days and earned a win over the Big East's DePaul. This will be the Coyotes' 10th appearance on Heritage Court and first since 2021. South Dakota's record inside the Pentagon is 5-4 with three of those losses to nationally-ranked teams.
The Coyotes were picked third in the preseason Summit League poll with junior
Grace Larkins and sophomore
Carley Duffney named to the preseason all-league teams. Larkins was also named to the preseason watch list for the Becky Hammon Award. One of the key talking points this offseason has been adding depth behind Larkins. The Coyotes have had four different leading scorers through six games. Sophomore forward
Walker Demers scored a career high 16 points against Arizona last time out to lead the Coyotes.
The Bulldogs
South Carolina State (0-6) dropped a road game at Summit League foe South Dakota State on Friday night in Brookings as a part of their tour-de-Rushmore State. South Carolina State, a member of the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference, is the only HBCU in the state of South Carolina.
The Bulldogs are led by Jordan Releford's 8.2 pints per game this season. The squad has nine players averaging 16 or more minutes per game.
The Series
This is the first meeting between these two programs.
