VERMILLION, S.D.— South Dakota defender
Taylor Ravelo has been selected to the 2023 United Soccer Coaches All-West Region third team announced this week. It is the second all-region honor for Ravelo, who also earned the recognition in 2021.
The Lakewood, California, native garnered All-Summit honors in October with a second team placement. She was also named one of the Summit League's players to watch in August.
The senior started all 18 games for the Coyotes, playing all 90 minutes in 15 of them. Ravelo made three goals this season, two of which were game-winning goals against North Dakota and North Dakota State. Her defensive efforts contributed to six shutouts for the Coyotes this season.
Ravelo has played 71 games in her career, starting 68 of them. Of her 12 career goals, seven were game-winning for the Coyotes. Ravelo is third in program history in career game-winning goals. She has spent a total of 6,121 minutes competing on the field, which is the third most by any Coyote in program history.
