The Coyotes
South Dakota (14-15, 10-8 Summit) is led by first team all-Summit League pick
Grace Larkins. The do-it-all guard is the first player in Summit League history to rank in the top five in points, rebounds, assists and steals. She led the Summit League with 89 assists in 18 league games while averaging 18.3 points, 8.7 rebounds and 2.1 steals. The Coyotes are under the direction of first-year head coach
Kayla Karius. South Dakota enters the Summit League Tournament as the No. 4 seed for the third time. The Coyotes were the last No. 4 seed to win the tournament, advancing to the 2014 NCAA Tournament in what was the program's first Division I appearance.
Â
The Golden Eagles
Oral Roberts (11-18, 8-10 Summit) is led by the first team all-Summit League tandem of Hannah Cooper and Tirzah Moore. Cooper is the Summit's leading scorer at 20.3 points per game, while Moore has averaged a double-double of 13.3 points and 10.5 boards per game. ORU is also under the direction of a new head coach this season in Kelsi Musick, who previously led Division II Southwest Oklahoma State to seven NCAA Tournaments in 13 seasons. This is the Golden Eagles' sixth time in the Summit League Tournament's 4-5 game in eight seasons. Oral Roberts won all five of those quarterfinals.
Â
The Series
South Dakota leads the all-time series 21-3 with 19-straight wins dating back to the 2015-16 season. This is the fifth meeting in Sioux Falls with the Coyotes advancing in the other four.
Â
One Last Thing
The Coyotes are the three-time defending champions of the Summit League Tournament behind the 'Big Three' of
Chloe Lamb,
Hannah Sjerven and
Liv Korngable. It will be a brand new experience for much of this year's squad with only four active players previously taking the court at the PREMIER Center. Among those four, only Larkins has averaged more than 10 minutes per game inside the Denny.
