South Dakota athletic director David Herbster announced recently that Sean Beam is the new assistant athletic director for events and facilities.

Beam is a native of Mechanicsburg, Pennsylvania, and graduated from Liberty University in 2016. He has worked at Central Michigan University since late 2019 where he served as the director of facilities and events before being promoted to associate athletic director for capital projects, facilities and event operations. In that capacity, he served as project manager for all athletic department capital projects, oversaw daily facility upkeep and deferred maintenance initiatives, and managed a staff of four event administrators, one graduate assistant and 60 student event staff covering events for 16 Division I programs.

Before Central Michigan, Beam worked at Nicholls State University from 2016-19 where he began in the ticket office before moving into athletic facility and operations coordinator. He managed facility and game day operations and also managed season and game day ticket sales.
