SIOUX FALLS, S.D. – South Dakota women's tennis fell Tuesday, 5-2, in a dual with Creighton played inside at Huether Family Match Pointe because of forecasted high wind speeds in Vermillion.

Creighton (15-6) captured the doubles point with wins at No. 2 and No. 3 doubles and then won four of six singles matches contested.

South Dakota sophomore
Bea Havlickova rallied form one set down to post a three-set win at No. 1 singles, 2-6, 6-3, 7-5.

Selena Bird, a freshman, came back from a set down to win a three-set battle at No. 5 singles.

Grace Chadick, a sophomore, dropped a three-set match at No. 3 singles.

"Hard fought match like always with Creighton today," coach
Brett Barnett said. "They played a good match and wanted it more than we did. We had our opportunities but didn't have the fight necessary across the board.Â

"Great job by Selena and Bea battling and playing with good energy to win in 3. We have a big challenge with ORU on Friday and need to be ready to compete and play from the first ball."

South Dakota closes the regular season by hosting Oral Roberts on Friday and playing at Omaha on Sunday.
