The Meet
South Dakota track and field wraps up its regular season by hosting the USD Tune-Up at Lillibridge Track Complex in Vermillion on Friday. Field events are scheduled to begin at 2:30 p.m. with track events starting at 3 p.m. South Dakota's seniors will be recognized at roughly 5 p.m. following the 400-meter hurdle races.
The Coyotes
It's a final opportunity for the Coyotes to make the conference roster and fine-tune any adjustments ahead of the Summit League Championships next weekend. South Dakota swept the indoor Summit titles, a program first, back in February inside the DakotaDome. If the Coyotes were to go 4-for-4 on the year, they would become the first program outside of North Dakota State to do so since Southern Utah in 2004. South Dakota's women are looking for their fourth-straight championship after sweeping last year's indoor and outdoor championships and picking up another title indoors this year.
South Dakota's women are No. 36 in this week's USTFCCCA rankings, while women's pole vault remains No. 1 in the country. The Coyotes have swept the Summit Peak Performers of the week on the women's side each week the team has competed. This week's honorees are
Jacy Pulse on the track,
Lydia Knapp for field and
Jack Durst representing for men's field.
With two weeks to go, the Coyotes have nine women, six men and one relay in qualifying position for the NCAA West Preliminary.
